Sword of the New World RNPCs or UPCs – Lorch Feurholden
City of Auch’s resident gun merchant RNPC or UPC is Lorch Feurholden. To be able to recruit him to your family, you will need to finish certain quests for him. This guide from SOTNW Wiki shows the basic information about him and a step by step guide on recruiting Lorch.

- Shotgun – Hunting Blaster, Gigantic Blaster
Note that Lorch’s Hunting Blaster combines some skills from Install Trap with Shotgun Blaster, namely Explosion and Critical Disease. It is possible to max both stances by using the skill points from Install Trap to upgrade Explosion and Critical Disease, instead of using points from Hunting Blaster.
Hunting Blaster
Lorch is the gun seller of Auch City. He specializes in shotguns and has a unique stance called Hunting Blaster, mixing the Shotgun Blaster stance and the Install Trap stance.
How to get:
Required Lvl – 50
Step 1
First, you need to do the Tiburon quest. Note that you should be 56+ it is doable at lvl 50, but I DO NOT recommend it as Tiburon calls for help (you have to fight Ramiro and an Elementalist and they use knock downs like no tomorrow.) I did it at level 50-53, but I was lucky.
Step 2
Turtle’s Land
Once you got your reward , Talk Again to Lorch and choose the option : “How have you been?”
You will begin to build a friendship with Lorch and he will ask you to bring him 120 Steel Tortoise Powder
You will have to go Porto Bello, Deserted Quay (level 50 monsters) and hunt Steel Armed Turtles.
This the rarest Turtle in the area and its not a 100 % drop, so good luck on collecting the 60 powders.
Once you get 60, go back to Lorch for your reward.
Step 3
Lorch and the New World
Once you get the Reward , you will have to run over this place in Auch City (H10-H11):
This is the place near the Main Gate (To Thueringen Lakeside.)
You will receive a message, and a new Quest will start.
You will start an easy fight against some soldiers. After the battle, Lorch will reward you.
Step 4
The Love Letter
A girl in Auch wants to date Lorch. This is Jonella, the Cake Seller. (G9)
Talk to her, and you will start the next quest.
She will give you a love Letter for Lorch, and you will have to go back to talk to Jonella after Lorch’s answer.
Lorch respectfully declined the offer.
So Jonella becomes very angry, and provokes you into a duel; It’s time to beat the girl.
After your victory, Jonella will give you 1k vis.
Go back to Lorch for the end the quest.
Step 5
Lorch and the New World Part II
To start this new quest you will have to go to G7:
Choose the second option to start another, easy fight.
Step 6
The Shotgun ‘s Quest
Go back to Lorch once you have won the fight and he will ask you to collect items to make a new shotgun.
He will ask you to bring 3 series of different items (it will depend on the shotgun you choose) :
For the Fear Gun, you need:
30 Broken Mask, dropped by the hermit in Dr.Torsche’s Mansion Savage Garden. (Poor drop rate.)
50 Silver Strings, dropped by the Bears in Rion Prairie.
65 Transparent Otite Pieces, dropped by Hollow Footmen in Dr. Torsche’s Mansion, Reception Hall. (Poor Drop rate; It’s better to bring a fast character and run around the Hall.)
For the Stun Gun, you need:
30 Panzer Doggy Chain, dropped by Doggy Panzers in Rion Prairie / Pradera de Ceniza. (Poor drop rate, poor monster spawn rate)
50 Chunk of Copper, dropped by Doggy Bombers in Rion Prairie / Pradera de Ceniza. (Poor drop rate, poor monster spawn rate)
65 Transparent Otite Pieces, dropped by Hollow Footmen in Dr. Torsche’s Mansion, Reception Hall.
For the Poison Gun, you need:
65 Transparent Otite Pieces, dropped by Hollowed Footmen in Dr. Torsche’s Mansion, Reception Hall.
30 Spider Silk Glands, dropped by Bloody Black Widows in Pradera De Ceniza.
50 Quartz Glass, dropped by Wolves in Rion Prairie.
Good Luck, it’s not much of a pleasurable experience.
Once you get all the items, go back to Lorch.
Step 7
Lorch’s Fight
You have to wait till Lorch finishes the Shotgun. Walk near the city entrance (G-11) till the quest triggers.
Talk to Lorch and join him in the square,
Lorch wants to try out his new Shotgun on you…
Surprise.
Step 8
Till Death Do Us Part
After the fight with Lorch, go back near city entrance and wait again for Lorch to call you (It will take 5-10 minutes for him to call you). Go back to lorch, and you’ll be instanced to a battle against soldiers, Lorch will help you fight them, after the battle go back to Lorch.
Step 9
The Father’s Letter
Lorch is now waiting for a Letter from his Father. Go on and Saunter down to F8 in Auch, the place where you get the letter is in the split near Grenmah Arcade, F8 and down. It doesn’t take very long.
