Trading Ingredients in Restaurant City
Ways to Trade
When you visit a friend’s restaurant there will be two trade icons.
First Icon > Trade Ingredients
Using the Trade Ingredient icon will enable you to trade ingredients that your friends have decided to leave unlocked. Trading of unlocked ingredients is only available for items of same or higher rarity, (same or higher stars under the ingredient). If Notifications are enabled in your Facebook profile, a message will be sent to your friend stating that you have traded with them. Only ingredients that are unlocked can be traded this way, but all of your friend’s ingredients will be visible while using this function. The game will not notify you which ingredients have been traded at this time.
Second Icon > Trade Locked Ingredients
Using this option will enable you to send a trade request for any ingredient
you might need, regardless of rarity. A message will be sent to your friend’s
mailbox asking to trade the requested ingredients. The message will stay in
your friend’s inbox for two days. If the trade request is accepted you will
receive a message in your inbox stating “You have traded (A Ingredient) for
(B Ingredient). If Notifications are enabled in your Facebook you will also
receive a message stating “Your friend has traded with you in Restaurant City”. If your friend decides to Decline your request, no notification will be sent. If your friend takes no action, after two days the message will automatically be deleted.
Tips for Trading & Forum Safe Trading
Remember that when you are posting and trading in the forum you will
always have to follow the terms of service and conduct. Trading posts go
on the Trading Sub-forum only, remember this if you want to avoid having
your thread deleted or moved.
You can refer to Terms of Service if you have concerns or questions.
- Remember to always post what ingredients you are willing to trade and
which ingredients you are looking for, this will help you to avoid having
conflicts with other players once you are in the game.
2. If are not currently on a trade, but visiting a friend’s restaurant and
intending to trade, always check their menus to see what items might be
useful for your friend as well. A good trade is one where both users can
benefit from it. If you are unsure what your friend’s needs are, or their menu has been removed from the walls, kindly send a message to the other player, especially if this is a temporary friend who has added you for the purpose of collecting the first visit ingredient. Some players prefer to be asked if they are willing to trade, always be kind and courteous to others.
3. Per the Forum Rules & Posting Guidelines Inter-Application trading is
not allowed. If a loss occurs from this, Playfish will not assist you in any
dispute regarding to this matter. Be very cautious when trading and if a
trade becomes suspicious the best is to not go thru with it.
4. Always visit the other member profile to look at their visitor messages;
if available they will be a helpful hint of trader reliability. If no visitor messages are available do a search for their forum name, if the other member has failed at successful trades, more likely other members will post about it.
5. Multiple Ingredient Trades. Some players will be willing to trade
multiple ingredients for a single ingredient if they are in extremely need of a
certain one to finish a dish or level up. To trade multiple ingredients, the
other player or yourself will send a trade request for the ingredient needed,
the remaining items will be sent by using ingredients that the person does
not need anymore or has overstock of. For example if I need one flour and I
am offering 3 ingredients for it. The first trade request from the other layer
will be for one of the items they need from me and their flour, then they will
continue to send me 2 other requests for the ingredients they need from me and their unwanted or “junk” ones. Gifting ingredients is not possible.
6. Trading Ingredients for Coins. This is a forum way of trading,
used when other players are in need of items for their restaurants, similar to multiple trading. The difference is that instead of requesting a specific
ingredient, items will be sent equal to the amount of coins requested. If you were intending to buy for example a chair that is worth 800 coins, and are willing to sell an ingredient for it, you will specify which item you need to the other player and they will gift you this item, a trade request will be sent for the ingredient being sold.
Please know that the agreement of how this will be sent or traded is entirely up to you and the other person. These trades are based on “trust”, and any loss coming from them, is only responsibility of the trading parties.
7. Avoid trading by Private Message, if possible never do it. Always post your trading process in the thread you have started trading on. If you were victim of a scam this will be your proof if you want to warn other members of misconduct.
8. A personal tip from me is “Not Holding Ingredients Hostage” if you are not using an ingredient or working on a dish that contains it, let it go, especially if someone has something else that might be more useful to you. You are very likely to receive another one of them later on at quizzes, visits, or free thru the Daily Ingredient.
Hope these tips help you, you enjoyed my guide and feel free to post your ideas, suggestions, or if you think my guide stinks
And remember the most important rule is … Be kind to others, and treat
everyone with the same respect that you would like to be treated.
