Item manufacture in SOTNW (Sword of the New World) is a way for players to acquire a better and enhanced item. You will need a recipe to craft a certain item. This guide from SOTNW Wiki shows a step by step guide on how to craft an enhanced item with a sample recipe provided.
Item Manufacture
Crafting in SOTNW is easy; you need to have a recipe and the ingredients in the recipe to craft the item.
Phase 1: Getting the Recipe
- The first and easiest way to get recipes is to buy them from the blacksmith in Reboldeux (the same old man that refines the minerals). These recipes are common and are usually not too great.
- The second way is to buy them from the market manager (the ones that are worth it are usually pretty expensive, because recipe drops are pretty rare).
- The third way is to farm them from mobs (takes forever…).
Phase 2: The Recipe
- If you hover over a recipe with the mouse mouse, you’ll see info about the item, level required to craft it and use it, and information about the ingredients needed.

Phase 3: Crafting~
- So you found the ingredients and have the recipe, now you need to find the npc that can craft it, check the recipe and read the name of the npc
- Armor Crafters: Idge (Metallic), Andre (Andre designed gear)
- Magic Weapon Crafter: M’Boma
- Ranged Weapon Crafter: Grace, Lorch (Shotguns & Crossbows)
- Canon Crafter: Jose
- Melee Weapon Crafter: Adelina, Claude (Blunt)
- Accessory Crafter: Mia Karjalain
- Baron Weapons – Old Man in Los Toldos, he’s an NPC. No UPC leveling required.
- Select the option that ends in “manufacture”, then drag and drop the recipe into the box and click craft.
- The resulting item will contain a random mod/enchantment, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Crafted equipment will be no different from items that possibly drop off normal monsters and raid bosses.
- However, some items can only be crafted and some of these items are required for high level recipes.
- In most cases, specially in lower levels, the costs of materials will outweigh the worth of the item. This is specially true with the introduction of Pioneer/Ancestral items. As such, crafting only really becomes useful come level 84 and above, where it’s sometimes cheaper to make your own gear, instead of buying them. However, this doesn’t always stand. Always check the ingredients required to make the item, such as high quality gems.
- Note that numerous typos exist within the recipes themselves, and the best way to check the required materials needed for the item is to drag the recipe to the manufacturing UPC. For instance, the recipe for an level 100 Elite Crossbow says that you need 100 Aidanium, but if you drag it towards Lorch’s crafting screen, it’ll require Mega Aidanium instead.
- Crafting equipment will produce either a blank one, or a randomly modded piece.
- Crafted items, like almost any equipment in the game, can be traded. Hence, even if you do not have the required UPC, you can pretty much just give the materials and recipe to someone who does such as a clannie, and have that player craft the item. However, as some recipes can be really expensive, it wouldn’t hurt crafting it yourself if possible. After all, no one wants to give 50 level 100 enchantment chips and other whatnot, just to get scammed.
Note: The NPCs won’t craft recipes level 60 or higher, so you will need to train each UPC to be able to craft any item/weapon/armor. That UPC must also be of an equal level or higher than the recipe that you are trying to craft. For Vet items, having a level 100 UPC will be enough.
That’s all, enjoy your home made weapon =P
