Pure Int Spear is best known for their strong offensive skills especially their nukes but have low HP and defense. This guide will explain what we need to know about this build – its pros and cons, difference between a Pure Int and a Hybrid Int, what skills to get, etc. Thanks to Tsume for this guide. What IS a Pure Int Spear Nuker?
A pure int spear nuker, in general, is the strongest Chinese build at this cap [90]. No other Chinese build compares to the damage that a pure int spear will put out. Although, however it is at a great disadvantage when it comes to surviving and tanking. There has been many discussions on pure ints, many choose to go hybrid instead of pure simply for the extra HP and physical damage (crits).
A pure int build requires you to put ALL your stats into int, whereas a hybrid uses their stats to go into both str and int. A pure int has many advantages over a hybrid;
- stronger nukes
- stronger magical based attacks
- faster to lvl up (PvE)
- more MP
But it also has a few disadvantages compared to a hybrid build;
- less HP
- less tanking ability, which results in you dying =[
- weaker physical attacks (crits mainly)
- hybrid will probably do better in PvP
Why should I choose to go Pure Int instead of Hybrid Int?
First of all, you will lvl up a lot faster and have greater overall damage, but if you really care about PvP then go hybrid as Pure Int’s die a lot faster in PvP than hybrid builds. But if you just LOVE dealing massive damage then Pure Int’s the way to go. If you don’t mind sacrificing a bit of HP for damage, then Pure Int is for you!
What skills will I need for Pure Int Spear Nuker?
For the limited 300 mastery points you get I’d suggest either:
90 Fire
90 Heuksal (Spear skills)
90 Ice
30 Lightning
OR
90 Lightning
90 Heuksal (Spear skills)
90 Ice
30 Fire
OR
90 Fire
90 Heuksal (Spear skills)
60 Lightning
60 Ice
90Fire/ 90Heuksal/ 90Ice/ 30 Lightning
This build has the MOST defense out of all builds however might be slightly weaker than other builds because Lightning is kept at 30 which results in you NOT being able to get a higher lvl magical attack increase buff (I will explain later) Although this build doesn’t have a high lvl Piercing Force the damage is still considerably high. At later lvls Fire Nukes gain 330% which makes up for the Piercing Force.
This build will be godly at PvP
Fire Force Series – MAX IT! This is your main imbue! Also the strongest imbue in the game
Fire Shield Series – MAX IT! This skill gives you immunity, you need a shield to activate it however you can un-equip your shield after you’ve activated this skill and it will still stay
Flame Body Series – MAX IT! This skill temporarily increases your physical damage, 9% increase at this cap
Fire Protection Series – MAX IT! This skill temporarily increases your magical defense, it helps A LOT when you PvP against other nukers
Fire Wall Series – You can skip this. However if you’re rich sp-wise, why not get this too
Flame Wave Series – These will be your primary attacks in PvE, they deal sick damage and have range. DEFINITELY MAX IT!
Fire Combustion Series – Like Fire Wall, if you have extra sp get this skill. It’s good in guild/job/fortress wars against those annoying rogues/wizards
Flame Devil Force Series – MAX IT! This skill permanently increases your physical damage, 9% at lvl 90
Annihilating Blade Series – Skip this. If you have the sp, get this too
Fanning Spear Series – MAX IT! This skill boosts your Magical Defense for 15 seconds
Heuksal Spear Series – MAX IT! The first 3 books of this series are pretty useless but the 4th deals Dull which slows your opponent down for a period of time
Soul Departs Soul Series – MAX!!!! This series contains your most used skill – Soul Spear Emperor. SSE (Soul Spear Emperor and SSS (Soul Spear Soul) are probably the STRONGEST Heuksal skills
Ghost Spear Attack Series – MAX IT! Great skill to finish off mobs/people in PvE/PvP. This skill deals almost instantaneously however there is a slight delay after using it. It also deals Knock-Back (KB) which can be a life-saver
Chain Spear Attack Series – Optional. These are your smexy combos, they’re absolutely AMAZING in PvE but aren’t that great in PvP
Flying Dragon Spear Series – Since this build has Lightning at lvl 30 thus resulting in you not having a high lvl Lion Shout skill, I’d suggest that you use this skill to lure mobs
Cheolsam Force Series – MAX IT! Permanently increase your HP
Cold Force Series – Skip this. You already have a Fire Imbue
Frost Guard Series – MAX IT! Temporarily increases your Physical Defense
Cold Wave Attack Series – Skip. ‘Nuff said.
Frost Wall Series – If you have the sp – Get it
Frost Nova Series – This skill freezes enemies around you. Get it to piss people off in PvP
Snow Storm Series – Optional. You already have many Fire Nukes which greatly overpower Ice Nukes. However if you want it and have the sp, get it
Snow Shield Series – MAX IT! This is the reason you chose Ice. It absorbs damage and the damage gets dealt to your MP instead of HP
Cold Armor Series – MAX IT! Permanently increases your Physical Defense
Thunder Force Series – Skip.
Piercing Force Series – MAX IT! Temporarily increases your Magical Damage (8% increase at lvl 30)
Wind Walk Series – MAX IT! Temporarily increase your movement speed
Lion Shout Series – Skip.
Concentration Series – MAX IT! It err…Just get it -.- Increases your Parry Ratio
Thunderbolt Force Series – Skip.
Heaven’s Force Series – MAX IT! Also increases Parry Ratio

This build is probably the weakest but gives you the most % Increase in Magical Attack, the most Movement Speed and also the most Parry Ratio.
This build has many advantages in PvE, such as high a higher lvl Snow Shield and higher lvl Movement Speed + Piercing Force Series
Cold Force Series – Optional. It’s not as strong as the Lightning Imbue but gives the best statuses; Freeze & Frostbite
Frost Guard Series – MAX IT! Temporarily increases your Physical Defense
Cold Wave Attack Series – Skip. ‘Nuff said.
Frost Wall Series – If you have the sp – Get it
Frost Nova Series – This skill freezes enemies around you. Get it to piss people off in PvP

SR Required for this build (considering you didn’t take the ‘Optional’ skills): 739,063
90Fire/ 90Heuksal/ 60Ice/ 60 Lightning
This build is the most Balance out of all. Having Fire and Heuksal a lvl 90 will give you great damage output and with Lightning and Ice at lvl 60 you 15% Magical Attack Increase, 84 Physical Defense , 59% Movement Speed and 54 Parry Ratio . This build is probably the weakest out of all defense-wise. Great for PvE though.
This build will do great in PvE but not so good in PvP. Lvl 60 Ice/Lightning will give you enough Snow Shield/ Piercing Force/ Movement Speed to do well in PvE. However in PvP you’ll be lacking Physical Defense
Fire Force Series – MAX IT! This is your main imbue! Also the strongest imbue in the game

What Gears/Accessories do I need?
I’d suggest that you go with either Protector or Garment. At lower lvls try to get at least a +3 set with decent Blues. At cap you NEED at least +4 with at least +5 int/str on everything. As for accessories try to get +3/4/5 with +5 int/str or more. You need resistance on your accessories so you’re Immune to statuses such as Zombie/Burn/Freeze/Frostbite/Poison etc.
Weapons 
At lower lvls all you need is +3/4 or higher. Try to get your hands on some SoX items if possible. At cap if you don’t have a +7 you’re pretty much Farked, as +7 is the new +5. Try to get your Magical % to at least 41%/42%, same with your Magical Reinforce. Your Physical %/Reinforce doesn’t matter too much as you’re a Pure Int.However if you have the money, try to get a spear with good Physical %/Reinforce too. Crit isn’t too important as your crits won’t be significant. Attack Rating is important, so you’ll be needing 40% AR increase too. And of course +5 Int/Str.
PvE/PvP Tips and Suggestions
PvE
Mainly use nukes during PvE and Soul Depart Spear skills. Or use Flying Dragon Spear Series to lure then finish the mob off with Soul Spear Emperor/Soul or Ghost Spear Storm Cloud. Note that a combo will probably finish a mob. Use Snow Shield against Giants and Party Monsters, otherwise try to refrain from using it as it’s relatively MP-consuming. At lower levels mainly use Soul Spear Move/Truth and Ghost Spear Petal/Prince. Nukes come in handy from time to time, but nukes are kinda weak until lvl 50. (43 for Fire)
PvP
ALWAYS use Snow Shield during PvP. It is the one skill that helps you survive. Don’t nuke too often, mainly use Heuksal skills. Prioritize Heuksal Spear Series and Soul Depart Spear skills. I can’t really give much advice here as I’ve never had a capped int spear
