In Requiem: Bloodymare, Compounding is one of the ways for players to enhance their gear but like most MMO games enhancing your gear also has a chance for it to break or be destroyed in the process. Here’s a guide about Requiem’s Compounding – process of compounding, materials needed, etc. This guide is created by guitar .

Compounding

What you will need:

  • Ordinary quality or better weapon/armour. (It will say on it “compoundable” ).
  • Appropriate Compound xeon for the level and quality of the weapon/armour.
  • Basic xeons (Acquired from reducing weapons/armour at the reduction blacksmith).
  • Money$$$

Where to get Compound Xeons:

  • Quests.
  • Drops (more often in dungeons).
  • Buy from the Auction (The easiest way to obtain them! There is a separate section for xeons).
  • Rewards from Field of Contention and Ion Mine (Battlefields).

How to do it:

  • Go to the compounding blacksmith in a major town. If you have just started you will need to go to either Valdes if you are in Crescent, or to Zakate if you are in Turba Island. The blacksmith is found in “The Forge”.
  • Click on him and choose compounding.
  • Put your weapon/armour into slot 1 and choose the recipe you want. It will now show you the materials required as well as the success chance and amount of Lant as fee.
  • Put the appropriate type of compound xeon into slot 2. The basic xeons into slot 3. Click OK and hope your item does not break. (Slot 4 is supposedly reserved for special cash-shop items that may affect compounding.)
  • Every time you compound there is a chance your item and all xeons will be lost in the process! The more you compound a single item the higher the chance it will be destroyed!

What compounding does:

  • Increases the “effective level” of your item by +5 for each compound.
  • This increases the damage/defense of the item to the next “grade”.
  • The skill mastery and level requirement of the item stay the same.
  • Increases the maximum possible value of the stats on the item. (For example if an item had a possible range of 1-3 STR when spawning in the game world, that maximum may now be increased to 4 STR, but that does not mean that you will get an increase in that stat. If your item had +2 STR before, it may have +1 STR after you compound it).
  • Erases any reinforcements on the item!

In other words, if I have a Dull Dual Sword, and I compound it once, the sword will go from “effective level” of 10, to “effective level” of 15, or the “Fides” grade. That means that this level 10 sword is now doing the same damage as a level 15 sword. If I compound this sword again, it will now be “effective level” 20, or “Acer” grade. An item can be compounded a total of five times, each time upgrading the “effective level” of the item by +5.

The names for the “grades” of items is as follows:

  • Dull
  • Fides
  • Acer
  • Keen
  • Accel
  • Storm
  • Vortex
  • Blaze
  • Thunder
  • Gusts

(There are some exceptions to these “grades”, such as Gandharva, Ferus (Supernus), Fissure (Eximis) )

These “grades” are separated by 5 levels each, starting with the lowest level at the top.

Compounding “grades” are as follows:

  • Fortis (+5)
  • Amplio (+10)
  • Melior (+15)
  • Ulterius (+20)
  • Potens (+25)

As an example, if I compound a Fides Sword, I will get a Fortis Fides Sword, which is an equivalent (damage wise) of an Acer Sword.

If I compound a Fortis Dull Wand, I will get an Amplio Dull Wand, which is an equivalent (damage wise) of an Acer Wand.

Let’s go through an example. I have some Dull Dual Swords that I wish to compound. To do so, I must first have the proper xeons. The xeons I will need will be a Dull Compound Xeon and some Simple Basic Xeons. I go to the Compound Blacksmith, click on compounding, put my weapon into slot 1 and it shows me the materials needed (which I have already mentioned). Put the materials into their slots and click OK. If you are successful, your item will go into your first available inventory slot. If it failed, the item will be destroyed and so will all the materials.

If I wanted to compound these Fortis Dull Dual Swords which I received from the previous compounding, I would need a Fortis Dull Compound Xeon. The result would be Amplio Dull Dual Swords, and to compound them I would need Amplio Dull Compound.

The second choice in the Recipe List is actually to simply reset, or “re-roll” the stats on your weapon, without upgrading it to the next level. So if you put a Fortis Dull Wand into the slot, you can choose in the recipe window Fortis Dull Wand, and this recipe will reset the stats on that wand. For this you need a special xeon called a Revamp Compound Xeon.
