CEO of CJ Games Arrested for Selling In-Game money for Real Money

I’ve always suspected that some game companies were actually behind in in-game currency selling as well as some bot programs. My suspicions were confirmed when the CEO of CJ games was arrested for selling in-game currency for real cash. It’s indeed sad to hear that this kind of operations would one day be a common occurence.
Posted in Gaming News | No Comments »On Saturday it was reported that Kwon Young-shik, president of CJ Games, CJ E&M’s online gaming subsidiary, was arrested by the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office for exchanging game money for real currency worth a market-value of 900 million won (about $793,000) on Wednesday. He was arrested with another lower level CJ employee surnamed Hong, who is reportedly involved in the illegal exchange.
The prosecutors’ office raided CJ E&M Netmarble office on Thursday and is planning to expand the investigations following the testimony of a money exchanger surnamed Lee, who was arrested last month and confessed the involvement of Netmarble employees.
Kwon is charged with exchanging his virtual money for real world currency through Lee during his tenure as director in 2008 of CJ Internet, CJ Games’ predecessor.
“The prosecutors’ office is investigating some of our employees to find out whether they participated in illegal activities along with the currency exchanger arrested on April,” said a Netmarble representative. “We will cooperate with the investigation to utmost.”
Game authorities have tried to contain illegal game money exchange for some time to no avail, and the recent news of a direct involvement of a game company official is hard proof that they are really doing a shabby job about it.

PC Gaming Specs for Blade and Soul

With Blade and Soul’s impending international release, one must be prepared for it, PC specs wise. That would suck if you have to scramble to beef up your PC in short notice and also short on cash. It’s best to save up for it while it’s early right?
Anyway Blade and Soul has five levels of graphics to suit the specs of your PC. The game should run at the lowest level 1 graphics setting. It requires a minimum of GeForce 7600GT and 2GB ram at 30-35 fps. Level 3 graphics requires Intel Q8300, Radeon HD 4850 512 MB and 4gb Ram at 23-30 fps. Finally at level 5 it requires intel i5 760, GeForce GTS 1 GB and 4gb Ram.
That gives us some idea if the game should work on our PC specs and gives us time to save up for the upgrade.

If there’s one person who doesn’t deserve to reproduce, it’s Jacob David Hartley, of Lakeland, Florida. This no good fat blob just killed his own baby son for disturbing his XBOX marathon. Imagine so many parents struggling to keep their kids alive while this guy just killed his perfectly healthy baby boy for disturbing his xbox game. It’s only a game dude, you miserable blob. I hope he’ll spend most of his life in prison since he deserves it.
Posted in Gaming News | Comments OffA father has confessed to killed his newborn baby boy because the three-week-old’s crying was disturbing him as he played on a games console, police said. Jacob David Hartley, of Lakeland, Florida, had baby Colton sitting on him for around 30 minutes out of an almost five hour video game session on Thursday.
During his gaming marathon the 20-year-old became so frustrated with his son that he took hold of the boy with both hands and shook him. Damn you Colton, please go to f***ing sleep’, he said, according to the boy’s mother Amber Newton.

Lime Odyssey MMORPG Suspended in Korea after Open Beta

Wow after 100 days of open beta period of Lime Odyssey in Korea, its publisher Sirius Entertainment decides to shut down it’s server after massive bugs, unstable game and critical problems. The servers will officially close on March 30, 2012. It’s yet to be determined if the game will be back after the game has been fixed or it will be shelved for good. Meanwhile, there’s no news if the overseas franchise of the game will be affected. Too bad for those looking forward to the game.
