Admittedly, we’ve only played a number of hours on Diablo 3, so a full-on review at this time cannot be possible. The best we’re able to do for now is to give a quick impression of the game as we see it, and then add a “meatier” narrative later on.
With that out of the way, here is the first thing I can tell you about Diablo 3. A messed-up bedlam of epic proportions. But please don’t think I’m talking about the game. Word on the street is that Blizzard has created a total FAIL to its loyal fans by not being able to secure enough servers to accommodate the long, long line of excited players trying to activate their copies all at once.
Blizzard has already issued a statement to this effect, saying that they are currently performing emergency maintenance on the few servers they have available, which all crumbled under the sheer amount of users attempting to log on and play. So there is good news after all. But it is also wise to take note of the fact that Blizzard is guarding against more headaches by “keeping an eye out” for future issues.
But enough about the launching day woes. Diablo 3 looks to redeem itself by offering a very satisfying gaming experience, as expected. You’d have to take lots of pauses just to understand the workings of the skills system, though, but the combat is tops. It shouldn’t really bother the veterans, but a word of warning: if you’ve never played Diablo or a similar game in this niche before, you’re going to have a tough time.
One thing I noticed, though. It seems as if the skill system in Diablo 3 has been bumped up to the point where your weapon is becoming more and more useless as you level up. There are lots of powerful skills to earn even at the lower rungs of the leveling ladder, so much so that using your weapon can sometimes feel like a hindrance instead of an advantage.
I also don’t like the idea of using the auction houses. I decided to buy an axe to see how it could affect my character and my gameplay, and I got the most powerful one that was available for my current level. After that, any other weapons or loot that I happened to find were practically useless and laughable. The loot system in the game will almost certainly be rendered impractical and meaningless by buying your weapons in auction houses.
As I mentioned earlier, we were not able to play Diablo 3 for as long as we hoped. But despite the slight criticisms I mentioned above, the overall impression that our crew had was that the game deserves its hype. For its own sake, I look forward to seeing Blizzard displaying its capability to handle future concerns even before they become problems, but as for the game itself, the first few hours we spent with Diablo 3 were a blast.

CEO of CJ Games Arrested for Selling In-Game money for Real Money

I’ve always suspected that some game companies were actually behind in in-game currency selling as well as some bot programs. My suspicions were confirmed when the CEO of CJ games was arrested for selling in-game currency for real cash. It’s indeed sad to hear that this kind of operations would one day be a common occurence.
Posted in Gaming News | No Comments »On Saturday it was reported that Kwon Young-shik, president of CJ Games, CJ E&M’s online gaming subsidiary, was arrested by the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors’ Office for exchanging game money for real currency worth a market-value of 900 million won (about $793,000) on Wednesday. He was arrested with another lower level CJ employee surnamed Hong, who is reportedly involved in the illegal exchange.
The prosecutors’ office raided CJ E&M Netmarble office on Thursday and is planning to expand the investigations following the testimony of a money exchanger surnamed Lee, who was arrested last month and confessed the involvement of Netmarble employees.
Kwon is charged with exchanging his virtual money for real world currency through Lee during his tenure as director in 2008 of CJ Internet, CJ Games’ predecessor.
“The prosecutors’ office is investigating some of our employees to find out whether they participated in illegal activities along with the currency exchanger arrested on April,” said a Netmarble representative. “We will cooperate with the investigation to utmost.”
Game authorities have tried to contain illegal game money exchange for some time to no avail, and the recent news of a direct involvement of a game company official is hard proof that they are really doing a shabby job about it.

PC Gaming Specs for Blade and Soul

With Blade and Soul’s impending international release, one must be prepared for it, PC specs wise. That would suck if you have to scramble to beef up your PC in short notice and also short on cash. It’s best to save up for it while it’s early right?
Anyway Blade and Soul has five levels of graphics to suit the specs of your PC. The game should run at the lowest level 1 graphics setting. It requires a minimum of GeForce 7600GT and 2GB ram at 30-35 fps. Level 3 graphics requires Intel Q8300, Radeon HD 4850 512 MB and 4gb Ram at 23-30 fps. Finally at level 5 it requires intel i5 760, GeForce GTS 1 GB and 4gb Ram.
That gives us some idea if the game should work on our PC specs and gives us time to save up for the upgrade.

Dungeon Striker is a fantasy MMORPG from the makers of Dragon Nest. This chibi style fantasy MMORPG game features includes 19 classes and job transfer system. In my opinion though it’s convenient having the characters move in 3D compared to sidescrolling movement in dragon nest. I like the splashy graphics and game environment of Dungeon striker, definitely eye catching. For now the game is in closed beta phase in Korea. We’ll just have to wait for the international version of it.
