Here’s a quick guide to bounty hunting in browser game “Vampire Wars”.

Vampire Wars Vampire Hunting Guide
How does the Hit List work?
A vamp can place another vamp on the hit list by setting a bounty on them. The minimum bounty that you can set is about 15% of your currently hourly blood flow. Once you set a bounty, 15% of that goes to Zynga, and the other 85% is the actual bounty that is collected by whoever claims it. Once a Vamp is put on the list, they stay there until they are killed. While on the list, you can’t repost the same vamp again. In addition, if a vamp is in Zombie mode, you can’t post them. If a vamp is in Zombie mode, they can post another vamp, however.
What happens when I attack someone on the Hit List?
A Hit List attack is calculated like a regular attack, except that there are no Clan Special bonuses possible. Mandy still affects the attacks, so you can get the extra EXP from Mandy. A Hit List attack DOES affect your Skill Rating, win or lose. If you win, you get exp and blood, just like winning a regular combat list attack. IF you lose, you lose blood, just like a regular combat list attack. I just claimed a couple bounties, and my SR went up 100 points!!!
If you’re on the bounty list, lots of people are going to try and claim your bounty. The larger the bounty, the more people that will try and claim it. When you look on the bounty list, it shows your skill ranking, along with your title. This gives someone a quick idea if they think they can take you down or not.
How do I “claim” the bounty?
Whoever gets the last shot that takes a vampire down to 0 health claims the bounty. You don’t have to win that fight, you just have to deal the last damage. So there are people that will throw themselves against the wall, losing again and again, trying to claim the bounty.
Why did someone put me on the list?
If you attack someone “a lot”, they might put you on the list. Each player’s interpretation of “a lot” is different, so you could be put on the list for 1 hit, or 3, or 10… it all depends. Some people put you on the list if you kill them, even if it was accidental. Some people put you on the list because you put them on the list first, and they are retaliating. Some people put you on the list because your link was passed around their clan… that’s the worst.
Should I put them back on the list?
It’s up to you. Personally, I try to take matters into my own hands and personally attack the person that listed me. And/or I’ll send them a friend request to try and make peace. If you do put them up as retaliation, you’re likely to start a flip/flop cat and mouse game until one of you gets tired.
How do I claim my first bounty?
Prior to going after bounties, you should prepare for the kill.
501 clan, 501 Pyros, 501 Super Fast Healing and 501 Move Silently is my suggested minimum.
You can hunt with less, but that will increase your odds significantly in your favor!
Go after bounties that are for players with a lower SR than you, or close to your SR.
If you attack above your SR, there’s a good chance you’ll lose.
How do I win those BIG bounties?
You need tons of rage, a good amount of health, and high Attack, in addition to a killer army.
I can’t say what “good” target numbers are, but just watch the board for large bounties on an SR that you can afford to tackle. If you go after the big bounties on the high SR players, you’ll put a big hurting on your win/loss ration trying to collect the bounty.
Is it worth it to “ride” the board?
Once you have really high defense and health, you can survive being placed on the HL for a while.
The only thing is, while you’re there, you’ll be getting attacked. If you’re losing the battles, it’s not worth it because you’ll lose blood. But if you win the battles, then it’s worth it because you’ll win blood. I’m not sure if you win exp from being on the board and winning on defense or not, I’ve read conflicting info on the forum, and haven’t tested the theory myself yet.
