Aion Online Translation Guide for Elyos and Asmodian

Tiaga’s Guide to Talking to the Opposing Faction in Aion Online
Yes this is a double post. I’d originally just posted this as a reply to Dejh’s thread. However, I think this warrants better than the bottom of page 3 so I figured I’d create a new thread.
Note: This guide was created by Tiaga of Aion Source Forums.
Credit where credit is due, the tables Dejh created were a huge step in being able to do this. I doubt I would have gotten so far so quickly without that groundwork already laid out. For those paying attention, you will notice the initial table for both sides is identical to the first option to type from Dejh’s tables. I also couldn’t have done it without the large group of Elyos who were standing around chatting after they wiped my rifting group while I just sat around and listened. Similarly, a big thank you to the group of Asmodians who were nice and chatty around the Elyos I created to find out how it works the other way.
Saying whole words is a little more complex than saying individual letters. However it is easier to read and looks better than t a l k i n g l i k e t h i s. It can be hard to follow these steps by hand, so if you are struggling with it, there is always the web tool to Convert phrases from english to Elyos or Asmodian using Dejh’s tables. Nicodega was kind enough to provide a Windows program to translate phrases for the other side to read. You can download it from this post.
To use these tables, every time you start a new word (Or really have a break in the word, such as the “t” in don’t) start at the initial table for the race you want to talk to, look up the letter you want to say on the first line, type the letter you see on the second line (Case matters!) then for the next letter, use the table indicated by the third line. Repeat this for each letter in the word, then start over for the next word.
Anything besides letters (Punctuation, numbers, etc) you just type as is and it will get passed as you typed it. Whenever you do, start over at the initial table for the next letter.
Everything you say will have the first character capitalized if it is a letter (If it is punctuation, the first letter will be lower case) and the rest will be lower case. (If you say Hello it will come across like that, but “hello” with the quotes would be all lower case)
